For 8 years, locals and tourists have enjoyed the creations being displayed at Simcoe Shed’s prime location on Highway 11 north. Owners Gordon Lavery and Kim Wallace have grown a thriving business from humble beginnings, turning Gordon’s vision into a reality.
The key to our success, says Wallace, is having the ability to adapt. “We have seen many challenges in the last few years and our success is because of our readiness to try new things and our staff’s commitment and ability to adapt as we go along”.

The first sheds ever created by Lavery were constructed entirely in a tent with no power. “He had a vision no one else could see,” said Wallace. “When Gordon sets his mind to something, he makes it happen”.
Now more than 15 years later, Simcoe Shed is the go-to destination for all your wood structure needs. Growing from a tent to almost 3 acres of showroom space, whether you are looking for a shed, sunroom, gazebo, dog kennel, or even a chicken coop, the team at Simcoe Shed has you covered. They have designed, constructed, and delivered their creations around the country including as far away as Yellowknife, NWT. One walk around their outdoor showroom will show you why Simcoe Shed is so sought after. Their creations are the top of the line, and their attention to detail is second to none. From the start of the design process to the installation, Simcoe Shed’s knowledgeable staff are there to aid customers through the entire journey.
When Simcoe Shed moved to their current and now permanent location in 2015, Gordon and Kim saw an opportunity. A brand-new indoor showroom opened even more possibilities for the already growing company. Looking to adapt into a year-round business, North Bound Rustic was born.
North Bound Rustic is a home décor store featuring unique products, including many created by local artists. With products from several sources, they offer something for everyone. Simcoe Shed and North Bound Rustic combine to create the ultimate one-stop-shopping destination.
A further testament to Simcoe Shed’s willingness to adapt and grow, Jimmy B’s is an on-site seasonal food truck that is open 6 days a week, all summer long. This food truck offers an extensive menu including poutine, brisket, pulled pork, smash burgers, and more.
Both Lavery and Wallace were born and raised in Oro-Medonte and still reside here with their son Cooper who is learning the ropes from his father. Operating a business that gives back to the region has always been a goal of theirs. Simcoe Shed designs, manufactures, and hires local. North Bound Rustic follows suit, hiring local staff and showcasing community artists. When shopping at either company you can be assured that you are supporting local. Simcoe Shed and North Bound Rustic also participate in charity events often, such as letters for seniors, foodbank gift basket raffles, donations to local events and various charities and much more.
