You’re Home in Ramara
As pleasing as the days of pioneers and petticoats, Ramara’s brand of welcome is a timeless tradition. Whether you seek thrilling adventures or peaceful outdoor spaces, meticulously crafted cuisine or fresh-from-the-farm creations, comfortable rooms, full-service resorts or welcoming RV destinations, it’s all found within Ramara’s boundless and breathtaking locations.
Ramara is nestled along the northeastern shores of Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching and provides a gateway to relaxation and recreational activities. With access to trails, parks, beaches and Trent Severn Waterways, Ramara has something for everyone.
On the south-eastern shore of Ramara, just north of Beaverton by land, and just beyond Trent Severn’s Lock 41/Gamebridge en route to Lock 42/Couchiching by lake, you’ll find Ramara’s business centre of Brechin. By land, Brechin sits proudly along Highway 12, and when arriving by water, it’s accessible by short bicycle ride from Lagoon City.
Small-town charm is found at Brechin’s summer-long Outdoor Market and the Ramara Chamber of Commerce’s annual Lagoon City Classic Car Show in July. Lagoon City is a beacon for boaters with intricate canals, ‘bring-the-whole-family’ resort and full-service, ‘slip n’ stay’ marina. Experience south Ramara’s beaches, parks, trails and even the Brechin Bear!
For those seeking adventure on the water, Lake Country Adventures offers a wide variety of watercraft rentals, from jet skis to pontoon boats, available by the hour, day or week.
Take to the skies with Lake Country Airways for a scenic tour of the region’s landscapes and waterways. Finish off your adventure with a meal at Tailwinds Bar & Grill, featuring great entertainment and decor for any avian enthusiast.
If you’re looking to extend your stay to the region, there are welcoming overnight accommodations available in the newly renovated Lagoon City Pier One Resort. This waterfront family-friendly resort offers kayaks and bicycles, a pool and sauna, and a full-service dining room, including an outdoor patio. You’ll also feel right-at-home at Fern Resort, one of the area’s longest running family resorts full of fun on-site amenities.
If it’s camping you crave, Ramara is home to McRae Point Provincial Park and Mara Provincial Park, both with RV and tent camping available on beautiful sun-set shores of Lake Simcoe.
