An event every week that begins at 11:00am on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until September 16, 2023
The Orillia Museum of Art & History’s permanent collection is full of tea services and other tea-related items, so for this “Collection-Inspired Exhibition,” we chose the theme of teatime. Tea is a universal beverage that has infused itself into ceremonies and cultures around the world. It is also a diverse drink with different brews that can be modified easily with milk or cream, or sweeteners such as sugar or honey. In this exhibition, we took our lead from the collection to talk about a drink that has been witness to so much history, both abroad and in Orillia. And with that, it’s time for tea!
