TC @ Lock 42 Grill serves up a popular new menu in Severn – Tourism Spotlight

Traversing along the Trent-Severn Waterway, by boat or by car, it’s easy to spend a whole day taking in the sights of the rocky pre-Cambrian landscape of the Canadian Shield and experience the majesty of the historic lock stations along the way. It’s a route taken by many boaters, cottagers and families looking to enjoy time on the water and make lasting memories.  Lock 42 – Couchiching is the first lock north of Lake Couchiching towards Georgian Bay, bordering Simcoe County and the Muskoka’s, and there’s a new reason to stop and fuel up you’re your bellies and your hearts at TC @ Lock 42 Grill.

The new family style restaurant is perfect for all ages and tastes, with a wide selection of food and drink on the menu as well as daily, weekly, or seasonal specials. TC @ Lock 42 Grill is part of the Tangle Creek Golf & Country Club Family, located in Thornton, ON, just minutes from Barrie. Being part of the TC Family has given the restaurant the stepping stones needed to branch out and bring forth their expertise in the food and beverage industry to the beautiful Severn area.

“The community’s excitement and support has been humbling,” says Managing Partner, Nicole Verwey, on the restaurant’s opening in 2021. “We have numerous amounts of repeat customers. Our community has not hesitated in helping us get the word outr and have provided us with such positive feedback and appreciation for joining their community.” Whether you’re arriving by boat from Sparrow Lake or Lake Couchiching, or pulling off along your drive through Severn, you’ll be greeted by an amazing team of local friendly individuals ready to serve and welcome you to the area.

TC @ Lock 42 Grill is open year-round with seasonal adjustments to hours and features. During the spring, summer and fall months visitors can enjoy the peaceful picturesque patio next to 2 acres of green space, surrounded by beautiful tall tree lines and the canal. The summer also means everyone’s favourite treat on a hot day, “we have a retro ice-cream trailer on site serving nothing but the best, of course, Kawartha Dairy!”  Through the winter and year-round, dine-in the cozy family atmosphere or grab some Take Out for those nights when you’d rather just stay in.

As the menu evolves, Nicole lets us in on some popular favourites from customers, “We’ve had countless amounts of positive feedback on quite a few of our menu items. To name a few: our Fish & Chips, burgers, wraps, soups, and especially our Weekend Breakfasts.” Those breakfasts have become so popular there’s requests to make them available daily, an option not available yet, but still on the table with many other exciting menu plans. These Customer Faves along with new creations by Chef Carleton mean the TC @ Lock 42 Grill menu is always fresh with new delights and tried and true staples.
