Mammal Tracking Workshop

January 27 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

55.00

In this workshop, you will be out in the field and here’s what you’ll learn: Bob Bowles’ simplified method called the 5S approach to track mammals. Determine if the animal was walking, trotting, hopping or bounding. Observe mammal signs – scat and browse – and learn clues about their size, diet, gait and habits. Identify tracks to understand what animals are doing, their routes, whether they are the predator or the prey. Determine the species, when the animal came through the area and what the animal was doing. Bring your lunch to enjoy around the campfire after the field study. We will also have a Q&A session during/after lunch.
