Independent and family owned farms and businesses produce high quality items grown right at your doorstep. Enjoy a farm to table experience, help your kids learn where their food comes from, meet some charming farm animals and get some unique experiences right here in Oro-Medonte. You can support local while eating healthy and delicious food at the same time!

Bass Lake Farms 

This signature Oro-Medonte farm shows its commitment to community shared agriculture through its popular subscription food boxes, fresh produce, seeds, seedlings and potted plants, flowers arrangements, edible tours and garden based learning programs.  

The Bass Lake Farms Community Shared Agriculture program empowers the community to participate in the food we eat, including their popular Farm Gym program, educational workshops, and edible guided garden tours.  

Plan a visit to their location at Bass Lake Side Road East for a ‘fun on farm’ event. Explore their growing list of locally grown rare, heirloom, native, perennial, and edible seeds and plants for sale for your garden. Green thumbs will love the Bass Lake Farms Seed Club! 

Bear Pen Flower Farm 

This delightful flower wagon sells fresh cut seasonal blooms and herbs grown right on the farm just off Horseshoe Valley Road. Visit the flower wagon on weekends to browse the in-season selection, or visit the website to arrange curbside pickup.

Brown’s Farm 

This seasonal business is known for their farm fresh sweet corn. They also have cucumbers, zucchini, and squash in season. Located in the village of Dalston, Brown’s Farm sells pumpkins in autumn from their pick-your-own pumpkin patch. The Brown’s Farm family has deep roots in Oro-Medonte. This year will mark their 59th season! 

Century Stone Farm 

This small family farm makes a big impression with their most popular item – healthy free range eggs. Century Stone Farm located on Line 10N is proud to raise their animals in an environment that is stress free for them. They produce high-quality free-range chicken, lamb and seasonal vegetables. They also grow hay for sale, and have adorable goats and horses on site. 

Chappell Farms 

Did you know you can visit Chappell Farms this summer for a fun family experience? Bring your loved ones to the farm to meet some adorable baby animals at the petting zoo. Enjoy an educational agriculture themed scavenger hunt that is designed for the whole family. The kids can play in water sprinklers and a special sand pit area on site. 

As vegetables become available for harvest, Chappell Farms sells zucchini, beans, tomatoes, peppers and corn at their roadside stand located on Penetanguishene Road. Produce is picked the same day it is sold!  

Ego’s Garden Centre / Coulson Ridge Farm  

Enjoy homegrown asparagus, raspberries, sweet corn, tomatoes and garlic at Ego’s market shop (next to the greenhouse) on Horseshoe Valley Road.  

Ego’s “sibling farm” Coulson Ridge Farm produces a variety of farm fresh fruits and vegetables in season. They also offer PYO (Pick-Your-Own) strawberries and raspberries in season. Look out for raspberries, fresh garlic, green and yellow beans, cucumbers and zucchini as they come into season.  

Integrated Farms 

Looking for a farm that focuses on selling high quality pasture raised meats? Integrated Farms specializes in pasture raised chicken, using agriculture methods that respect Mother Nature to the utmost. They also sell pasture-raised eggs, pork, turkey, rabbit and 100% grass fed beef from their family farm on Line 10 N. Farmers Chad and Dorothy Coghlin adopted a strong nature-first farm philosophy from a desire to provide their kids with the healthiest food possible.  

Newman Farms 

Choose from a beautiful assortment of annual flowers at Newman Farms along with fresh local produce lasting until fall. Get your frozen free range organic chicken and organic brown eggs here! Need a perfect patio pot or basket? Swing by Newman Farms on Line 11 N.  When the season is right, you can pick up your farm-fresh vegetables there as well. 

New! Oro-Medonte Weekly Farmers Market 

July 1 marked the successful Grand Opening of Oro-Medonte Farmers Market held at the Oro World’s Fairgrounds on Line 7 N. The weekly market will run Thursdays 2-7 p.m. at Oro Fairgrounds. Browse a range of food, craft and produce vendors. The Oro-Medonte Farmers market will run each Thursday afternoon and evening during summer and into the fall. Visit the Oro-Medonte Chamber of Commerce website or Facebook page for updates. Congratulations to all of the vendors for a great start. Vendor spaces are still available.
