There are fall events, and then there is the Coldwater Witches Walk.
For almost two decades, witches have been gathering in Downtown Coldwater for a night of costumes, music, dancing, shopping and just the right amount of Halloween mischief. What began in 2008 as a small gathering of women led by local shop owner Lorrie Lenox has grown into one of Coldwater’s signature annual events, drawing crowds of over 2,000 people. On Friday, October 16, 2026, from 4 to 9 pm, the witches are back.
The Coldwater Witches Walk is FREE, proudly sponsored by the Coldwater BIA, and there is no shortage of reasons to make the trip. Downtown Coldwater comes alive with live music, dancing, entertainment, roaming and fire performers, vendors, late-night shopping and plenty of surprises along the way. Of course, you will want to dress the part. Witch hats are practically the unofficial uniform, but costumes of all kinds are encouraged. Gather your friends and family, create your coven and come ready for the Bewitching Costume & Coven Contest. You never know what, or who, you will encounter wandering the streets.
Make a Night of It
4 to 9 p.m. | Downtown Coldwater
Arrive early and start exploring. Local shops stay open late, while vendors line Coldwater Road and gather at the historic Coldwater Mill. Browse, shop local and soak up the atmosphere as the village transforms for the evening.

Expect live music, dancing, roaming performers, fire performers and plenty of Halloween atmosphere. Keep your eyes open, as part of the fun is not knowing what might appear around the next corner.
Haunted Mill & Scream Shack | Coldwater Mill
Looking for a little more fright with your festivities? Head to the historic Coldwater Mill, built in 1833, for a special Haunted Mill & Scream Shack experience. Admission applies to this attraction.
