This Saturday October 3, 2026, Orillia & Lake Country invites you to experience just that at If You Could Read My Mind… Poetry & Music Lawn Night, a collaborative event presented by the Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) and the Leacock Museum.
Taking place on the historic grounds of the Leacock Museum, this intimate evening celebrates the voices, stories and artistic expression that help shape the cultural character of our region. Inspired by Orillia & Lake Country’s rich literary and musical traditions, the event brings together poetry, music, storytelling and community connection in a relaxed lakeside setting. Guests are invited to bring their own lawn chair, settle in and enjoy an evening of live performances surrounded by the beauty and history of the museum grounds. The event also offers an opportunity to celebrate local voices and artistic expression while enjoying the unique atmosphere of the Leacock Museum. Whether you are a longtime lover of poetry and music or simply looking for something different to do on a fall evening, this is an opportunity to slow down, listen and connect. There is a special connection to Orillia’s musical heritage in the event’s name. If You Could Read My Mind is one of the iconic songs of Orillia-born Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot, whose legacy continues to be celebrated throughout the community.
