Mountain Biking

Fulfil your need for speed as you bike through the canopy and explore cross country trails in Oro-Medonte’s two fantastic mountain bike parks. Whether you’re a biking beginner or an elite athlete, we have trails for every level and ability.

The Horseshoe Bike Park is great for all levels of riders. All trails are accessed off their high speed 6 person chairlift. Twelve bike trails are available, offering a diverse mix of trails and terrain, including berms and bridges. Horseshoe Bike Park offers bike rentals and beginner to expert freeride and technical trails.



Hardwood Ski and Bike offers mountain biking experiences to anyone from 4 – 70 years of age. With over 80 km of beautiful, rolling trails winding through hardwood and pine forests, Hardwood’s trails intertwine with the ski trail network creating endless possibilities of courses and obstacles. Treetop Trekking & ZIplining

Swing from the treetops at Treetop Trekking, an exciting aerial game and zip line park located at Horseshoe Resort. Plan a fun-filled day of adventure in the spectacular Copeland Forest. This park has climbing and zipping activities for ages 5 and up.



Walk with Alpacas

Get up close and personal with adorable alpacas at Davidson Estate Alpacas farm in Oro-Medonte. Walk through the forested trail with a docile alpaca in tow, and take as many Insta-worth photos as you like! These gentle animals are safe to interact with and lead in a halter. During your visit to Davidson Estate Alpacas, you can have the opportunity to safely feed them, pet them and make friends with these special creatures. Tour the alpaca farm and learn about alpaca farming, products and lifestyle. Touch some super-soft alpaca fibre and browse alpaca socks, hats, headbands and yarn for purchase on-site. 



Horseback Trail Rides

Ride a majestic horse through a towering forest while learning about the ancient art of horseback riding with expert guides. The Boutique Trail Riding Experience at Glen Oro Farm allows guests to get to know their horse and practice horse care and grooming before setting out on the scenic trails. You’ll ride through gentle rolling fields, rugged trails and forested vistas as a group. Keep your eyes out for forest creatures such as deer and rabbits along the way. You might also catch a glimpse of Glen Oro’s innovative new stargazer domes. This two-hour trail ride experience is available for those aged 12 and up.

Fall Driving Tour

Traverse through the rolling hills of Oro-Medonte with canopied rural roads and expansive farm country. Discover arts and culture throughout Oro-Medonte along your route. On Thanksgiving weekend, visit artists around the region on the Images Studio Tour. Throughout the whole season, discover the Simcoe Barn Quilts visible by the road on farmsteads across the township. In Craighurst, fuel up and stop for a bite to eat while enjoying the new Oro_Art Trees by local artists. From the natural landscape to the artists inspired by it, the rural routes of Oro-Medonte are a vision to drive.



Motorcycle Simcoe Routes

Visit our beautiful township and travel at your own pace, right from the comfort of your motorcycle. Explore Oro-Medonte’s fabulous open roads while enjoying tranquil forest and farmland scenery, then stop for lunch and some shopping along the way. Consider steering toward the motorcycle-friendly Quayle’s Brewery for a weekend lunch, and sample their seasonal menu. Here there is plenty of parking and an expansive outdoor dining area. Browse locally made gifts and other items at Dwellings in Craighurst, and stop by Heritage Estates Winery and Cidery to sample locally made wine and cider. Always drink responsibly!



On-Road Cycling Routes

Did you know that Oro-Medonte’s smooth rolling hills and scenic paved roads are a known favourite for avid cyclists? Get the family into the fall spirit with a visit to the Chappell Farm Fall Festival. Pick your own pumpkin, visit adorable farm animals, explore a corn maze and more. The Chappell Farm Fall Festival is on until October 31st 2022, book reservations online in advance of your visit.



Hops to Table

Sip a farm fresh beer and absorb expert brewmaster knowledge on a Harvest Hops Tour at Oro-Medonte’s beloved farm brewery. Stroll through thriving hops fields at Quayle’s Brewery and learn about the growing season, soil and the role that hops have in beer-making. Quayle’s friendly brew crew will give you an insider tour of the harvester, oast house and brewery where you will be able to see the various stages of the harvest from farm to kettle. Pick fresh hops off the plant and sip a farm fresh beer in the taproom or new outdoor beer garden. The brand new beer garden is covered, so you can enjoy a visit anytime, rain or shine.
