Soon, school will be out and festival season will be in!

The Mariposa Folk Festival, running July 3-5, 2026, is Orillia’s annual celebration of music, food and art and it is the perfect spot to meet up with friends and make memories to last a lifetime! With Youth Passes for ages 13-18, Young Adult passes for ages 19-24, and free admission for children 12 and under, Mariposa is magic for all ages.

Mariposa’s 2026 lineup is stacked with talented musicians, from a wide variety of genres. Enjoy over 100+ performances over 11 stages, including Father John Misty, Steve Earle, Sarah Harmer, Dan Mangan and many more. During the day, check out the 7 Workshop Stages where you can take in intimate collaborative concerts with your favourite musicians. Dance the night away at the Lightfoot Stage line up in the evening. Liven things up in the Pub Tent, where the party goes all day into the night.

A Feast for Foodies

Food Vendor’s Alley is the place to find mouth-watering meals with vendors stirring up an eclectic array of flavours all weekend. Cool down during the day with a lemonade, iced coffee, or a handcrafted popsicle. Fuel your festival fun with fare from around the world, including Korean, Japanese, Indigenous, Hawaiian, and Spanish inspired cuisine, just to name a few. There is something for everyone with attention to dietary needs and vendors are highly conscious of environmental, ethical and social standards. So, dig in and feed your senses! (Oh, did we mention there will be Beavertails?)

Art is at the heart of Mariposa! Wander the Artisan Village and shop the creations of over 40 talented makers and artists. Find the perfect festival outfit and accessorize it with gorgeous handcrafted jewelry. Pick up a festival momento to remember your epic weekend. With everything from pottery to tie dyed pants, handmade soaps to stained glass, there is a treasure to be found for everyone in your group, or in your heart. This amazing display of handpicked Canadian talent is not to be missed.

Get Creative with the Whole Family

Mariposa is family friendly for kids of all ages. Folkplay is the perfect spot where kids and kids-at-heart can find loads to create and play! Have your face painted, try a musical instrument, hula hoop, or make a craft! Design your own button and help build a colourful quilt collage with the Orillia Museum of Art and History. Learn about nature at Science North’s Big Wild World exhibit. Get up close and personal with Animal Ambassadors from Wye Marsh. And don’t miss fun performances from Splash N Boots, Livi & Friends, A Sharon, Lois & Bram Sing Along, and more!

On the peninsula of Tudhope Park, artists flock to paint and create at Studio Point, inviting all ages to take part in artistic fun. Over at the Interactive Stages, you can sign up for a workshop to learn something new! From poetry to printmaking, dancing to drumming, there are great ways to fuel your creativity and play, all weekend long.

Mariposa Folk Greening

The Mariposa Folk Festival is a proud leader in environmental and sustainable event practices. Mariposa averages an 84 % diversion rate through efforts to be “green”. Mariposa is making it easier for festival-goers to do their part to ensure a greener festival. Food and drink containers from vendors are compostable, there is a Water Refill Station to eliminate single use plastic bottles. Cycle along the Millennium Trail and park your bike in a safe lock up zone, or take one of the Mariposa Shuttle Buses to help cut down your carbon footprint.

Start your weekend early at the Mariposa Downtown Stage on Thursday night from 5-9pm. This free event brings the magic of Mariposa to Downtown Orillia. Get an extra dose of amazing live music and explore the great shops and restaurants that the heart of Orillia has to offer.
