Historic Elegance in Oro-Medonte

One of the most striking backdrops in Finding Her Edge, is the grand estate that stands in the Russo family home: The Woodlands, a Victorian-era manion near Shanty Bay on Kempenfelt Bay in Oro-Medonte. Built in 1867 by timber baron Richard Power, the estate was later the summer home of Lt.-Col. Arthur Peuchen, a Titanic survivor, giving it a rich and storied past. With sweeping lawns, lakefront views and elaborate architectural details, the mansion exudes the kind of historic elegance that perfectly compliments the show’s themes of legacy, ambition and small town life.

While The Woodland Mansion is not currently open to the public, its iconic presence in Finding Her Edge draws fans to Oro-Medonte to experience the region that inspired the show. Tourists can enjoy the area’s scenic lake, beaches, rolling countryside, hiking trails, craft beverages and outdoor recreation while taking in the same landscape that make the manion’s exterior so captivating.
