Celebrate the life and legacy of Canadian music legend Gordon Lightfoot at a special birthday event on Sunday, November 17th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Brewery Bay Food Company. The gathering promises an afternoon of music, community, and celebration of Lightfoot’s lasting impact on both Orillia and the world of music.
The event will kick off with special greetings from Orillia Mayor Don McIsaac, who will address the crowd on behalf of the City of Orillia, highlighting the significance of Gordon Lightfoot’s contributions to the city and his enduring influence in the music world.
Attendees will enjoy live music by Steve Porter, a local talent whose performance will set the tone for an afternoon of celebration. In keeping with the spirit of the occasion, Mariposa Market will provide a birthday cake adorned with an image of Lightfoot, in keeping with the tradition of commemorating the artist’s storied career.
The afternoon will include a glass of cheer and birthday cake, followed by more live music and, of course, the traditional rendition of Happy Birthday to Gordon Lightfoot.
This is a free community event, open to all ages. We invite everyone to come together in Orillia to honour one of Canada’s greatest musical icons and celebrate his incredible legacy.
