Freestyle Ontario, in collaboration with Horseshoe Valley Resort, will
be hosting the Provincial Championships for freestyle skiing at Horseshoe from
February 22nd to 23rd, 2025. This event will feature competitions in the mogul, dual
mogul, slopestyle, and big air freestyle skiing disciplines. Competitors will primarily be
between the ages of 10 and 17. These athletes will have traveled from all corners of
the province to compete at this event. Come watch some thrilling freestyle action as
these competitors charge down the mogul course on Horseshoe’s Flying Mare ski run,
and fly through the air in Horseshoe’s newly designed Outlaw Terrain Park.
The Provincial Championships are the final event of the season within Freestyle
Ontario’s Timber Tour competition series. The Timber Tour is a series of provincial
level freestyle competitions hosted at various ski hills across the province, as well as
in the Gatineau, Quebec region. Ontario’s top club level athletes will compete at
Horseshoe in hopes of earning the title of Provincial Champion. Their results will help
these athletes earn points that contribute to their provincial ranking. These rankings
are used to select athletes for future national level competitions, as well as Freestyle
Ontario’s Ontario Team and Development Squad programs. Full details on Freestyle
Ontario’s Provincial Championships, the Timber Tour, and Freestyle Ontario’s athlete
ranking system can be found at hמּps://freestyleontario.ski

Freestyle Ontario is recognized by the Government of Ontario and Freestyle Canada
as being the official Provincial Sport Organization for the sport of freestyle skiing
within Ontario. As such, Freestyle Ontario oversees the province’s Olympic streamed
athlete, coach, official, and judge development pathways, supports a network of
member clubs located across Ontario, and runs all freestyle events that are part of
the sport’s Olympic pathway. Freestyle Ontario, in partnership with Ontario
Snowboard, are currently in the process of building a new downslope airbag and
trampoline athlete training facility at Horseshoe. This facility will allow Ontario’s
freestyle skiers and snowboarders to continue their training during the non-winter
months.
