Young Female Entrepreneur Generating Revenue for Local Artists & Artisans
Providing a profitable platform for local artists and artisans is the vision of Downtown Orillia’s newest shop. Olivia Neal, 25, is the young visionary/curator behind Harold + Ferne: The Local Goods Co., a supportive and centrally located store where 40 local artisans currently sell their work.
Neal ensures all of the products are either designed or produced close to home, providing an exclusive opportunity for artists and artisans originally from Orillia or currently living in the area. The shop’s inventory includes locally-produced housewares, artwork, clothing, jewelry, natural body care products, dishes, plants, greeting cards and furniture.
Harold + Ferne also hosts guided creative workshops with the intention of creating a space that encourages the community to explore their creativity. Discover weaving, paper marbling, jewelry making and terrarium workshops among other skills.
Harold + Ferne is hosting an official grand opening on Saturday May 28. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 1:00 but there will be door prizes, raffles, refreshments and more throughout the day. Find Harold + Ferne tucked away down Lightfoot Way off of Mississaga Street East between Brewery Bay and Tre Sorelle.
