Authors will read excerpts from their books and answer all of your questions about the secrets to success in the literary world. Terry Fallis will also introduce you to three up and coming student humour essayists who will read their stories. \nSaturday\, June 21: Leacock Medal Gala Dinner \nHosted by 2021 Leacock Medal loser\, Morgan Murray\, Morgan will entertain you with his wry humour and clever musings. Meet the three finalists for the Leacock Medal and $25\,000 prize and hear what former Leacock Medallists think of them – Terry Fallis (2008 & 2015)\, 2025 shortlisted Canada Reads’ author of Jennie’s Boy\, Wayne Johnston (2023) and award winning sports columnist with The Globe and Mail\, Cathal Kelly (2019). \nThe evening will included a proclamation by this year’s Mayor of Mariposa\, John Levesque\, and a toast to Stephen Leacock. Past winners/authors will present a spotlight on the shortlisted authors before the announcement of the 2025 winner of the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour.
