OMAH is kicking off its fall Midday-Make workshops with a special class hosted by Juliana Hawke.
A plein air artwork is one that was made outside, on location, from real life. En plein air literally means “in the open air.” The concept is simple: you work from life to capture the immediate light and colour. This often means painting quickly, because the light changes drastically over time. Join Juliana Hawke, on this full-day En Plein Air experience. As a group you’ll enjoy the beautiful Grant’s Woods Nature Reserve, feed off each other’s enthusiasm for plein air painting and learn a few techniques along the way.
Juliana will talk about Franklin Carmichael’s work along with that of some other artists, their different watercolour techniques, the perils of painting outside (!) and give some instruction before participants tackle their own masterpieces.
Box Lunch Included. We can accommodate vegetarian and gluten free. Please specify if either are required. OMAH’s programs are run on a cost recovery basis. Please note that we reserve the right to cancel this program if minimal registrant numbers are not met.
