The Canadian Musicians Co-operative (“the Co-op”) is excited to be bringing its signature Emerging Artist Showcase Tour to Orillia on Saturday August 27th, 2022 at the newly renovated Rotary Aqua Theatre.
The Showcase provides a platform for emerging artists to participate in the development of a full production, and deliver it live in front of an audience as part of their growth as an artist. The show is a staple in the City of Barrie, but has added Orillia as a new host City in 2022. The event is produced by the Canadian Musicians Co-operative with artists from across the province, including Orillia, performing in the Showcase.
On August 20th, 2022, the Co-op delivered another successful event in Barrie, packing Meridian Place with an audience eager to enjoy an evening of live music. From 7pm – 10pm that evening, artists and audience members alike were thrilled to experience live music again in full force, after enduring a long two years of Covid restrictions.
The performers exuded energy throughout the show; drawing the audience to their feet to sing and dance along with them as the evening went on. Each of the performers auditioned for and were chosen as participants in the co-op’s summer intensive development programs, where they have been working to hone their skills and build professional networks within the Canadian music industry all summer long. Led by Music Director, Brandon Pellatt, a five-season veteran of the program, they have been rehearsing throughout August to bring public performances to Barrie and Orillia.
The Co-op, and City of Orillia, are excited to bring this spectacular show to the shores of Lake Couchiching for another summer night on August 27th, 2022. It is an opportunity for local audiences to get involved, for young emerging artists to connect with the coop, and for those who missed the Barrie performance to catch this spectacular cast at the Rotary Aqua Theatre. The main performance begins at 7:00pm with Jamie Stephens (Fourth Born) pre-show at 6:30pm and is free for all to attend. Lawn chairs recommended.
