Ontario’s Lake Country has a large array of events and festival coming up this August. Here is a list of a few events and festival to look forward to!

Orillia Fun Fest

Aug 2nd to 5th

Orillia’s premier summer family event hosted by Orillia Lions Club and the Rotary Club of Orillia is back!

Visit Orillia’s Funfest at Lake Couchiching Beach Park this summer between Aug 2nd – 5th and enjoy live music, games, midway rides, vendors and much more!

This is an event that we encourage you and your family to check out!




Boots and Hearts

Aug 8th to 11th 

“This is the best festival in the entire planet, hands down.” – Thomas Rhett.

Boots and Hearts is the largest camping and country music festival of its kind ever to be hosted on Canadian soil. It’s a four-day celebration that attracts country music lovers of all generations.

This country music festival has been around since 2012 and continues to grow in popularity each year. This music festival takes place on Aug 8th – 11th at Burls Creek event grounds. If you love live country music, you will love this festival!




Coldwater Steampunk Festival

Aug 8th to 10th

The Coldwater Steampunk Festival is back for another year! This year’s theme is diversity, investigate your own family history for inspiration. The Steampunk Festival will be taking place at three locations: The Coldwater Mill, the award-winning Coldwater Canadiana Museum, and the historic main street of Coldwater.

During this festival there will be 100+ artisans, community art projects and exhibits, live music, re-enactments, and more!

The Steampunk festival is quite a unique event to look forward to.




Orillia Waterfront Festival

Aug 9th to 11th

A weekend of fun activities and entertainment at the beautiful Port of Orillia and waterfront park.

The Orillia Waterfront Festival in-water boat show features new and used boats and includes everything from kayaks to cruisers.

There will be over 100 land vendors and exhibitors offering boating accessories, water sport, equipment, cottage and outdoor products, great food and much more!

Not to mention the famous and hilarious cardboard boat race on Sunday at noon! Mark your calendars for this fun-filled Festival.




21st Annual Downtown Orillia Classic Car Show

Aug 17th, 9am-5pm

The Downtown Orillia Classic Car Show is back! Enjoy live entertainment, great food, vendors, and more at the largest car show in the region!

There will be over 400 classic cars located around downtown Orillia. This event will award you with a 2019 dash plate, special offers and coupons to many downtown business and chances to win great prizes.

Who doesn’t love a good car show with prizes? See you there!




Orillia Rib & Craft Beer Fest

Aug 23rd to 25th

This year’s Rib & Craft Beer Fest is not short of any entertainment, food, or beer.

Get ready for a Mouth Watering, Finger Licking, Belly Rubbing BBQ. New this year is the Craft Beer Lounge where you can hangout, enjoy games and seating while washing down your food with delicious craft beer. The craft brewers at this year’s Rib and Craft Beer Fest includes, Flying Monkeys Brewery, Barnstormer Brewing, Cottage Springs Brewery, Craft Head Brewing, Cowbell Brewing, Amsterdam Brewing, and more! The food variety is endless this year also! Enjoy pork ribs, beef ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork, BBQ chicken and so much more!

We want to emphasize the exciting entertainment this year. Orillia’s Rib Fest has live music all weekend, a kid zone, backyard BBQ games, cooking lessons, bubble soccer, and face painting!

2019 Rama Powwow

Aug 24th to 25th 

It’s time for the loudest and proudest Powwow in Ontario, hosted by The Chippawas of Rama First nation.

Visit the Rama Powwow at The John Snake Memorial Community Grounds on August 24th or 25th and experience traditional dances, traditional songs, and contests.

Explore the many vendors and witness authentic first nation crafted items and food.

This is quite the cultural experience and offers a lot of entertainment for the whole family.




Pirate Party

Aug 31st to September 1st 

Argh you ready for Orillia’s Pirate Party? Grab your best pirate apparel and join us for the annual Port of Orillia Pirate Party! This is quite the unique and memorable event that is fun for all ages! There will be live entertainment, a treasure hunt, and even a few people who walk the plank! The Walk the Plank is a fundraiser for the Rotary Aqua Theatre, a great cause and a great show. There will be prizes available to the best dressed crew and boat, so grab yar mates and win some treasure.
