A Taste Of Flavours!
The spring and fall are great times for several reasons in Ontario’s Lake Country. Flavours of Lake Country is the one that stands out every year. This event occurs during a colourful and tasty time of year. Indulging in the numerous menus created by different chefs inspired by Canadian flavours! These menus are constructed with care to enhance the many great flavours Canada has to offer including maple syrup and fresh local produce.
Spring Flavours started on April 6th and runs until April 22nd, giving you just enough time to try the 4 lunch menus and 9 dinner menus from the 12 participating restaurants. Experience our local Flavours through delicious 2-3 course prix fixe lunch and dinner menus. Reservations are recommended due to the limited seating and the popularity of this event. Be sure to tune into Sunshine 89.1, KICX 106, or 104.1 The DOCK for a chance to win Flavours gift certificates to some of your favourite restaurants!
This year we added something different. We had the opportunity to sit down with some of the chefs from participating restaurants and chat with them about their Flavours menu and what we should expect. One statement we heard from all the chefs was the amount of care they put into their dishes. The term homemade and handmade is another thing that each restaurant was very passionate about. That passion is displayed with each dish created year after year.
Flavours is not only an event for the patrons but also the chefs. It gives them the opportunity to experiment with different ingredients and try something new. Some of the favourites might even be added to their regular main menu and some come back due to their popular demand. Flavours of Lake Country is a fantastic and delicious way to get out and explore Ontario’s Lake Country and all the tasteful things it has to offer.
